I'm on windows 7 RC and everytime i connect my iphone 3g after a reboot (in the same USB port), it will notify me with "installing device driver" and "success" and I'm thinking "...wtf????"
I'll be fine if this doesn't harm my computer, but I'm mainly worried that it will just screw over/overload my system registries, etc!
I wouldnt be too concerned. I think this is normal.
I run windows7 as well and it does this everytime I install a USB item, whether it be my touch or my new iphone. Even my digital camera it goes through that process.
not really sure why, but it cant install the same drivers multiple times so I'm pretty sure windows is just verifying something.
Dont worry about it only takes a second or two. It takes a longer time to open itunes
