Wtf? Ram

I thought having 256MB of RAM would be just like having my old 35MB of free RAM plus 128MB from the doubled RAM of the 3G S for a total of like 160MB of free RAM. I thought the 3G S would have so much wasted RAM until someone made a serious game that required a bunch of RAM or whatever.

I was wrong.

I have Safari (1 page), Phone, and Mail running in the background and I have 28.4MB of free RAM (43.9MB - Wired, 37.9MB - Active, 27.1MB - Inactive, and the rest to whatever).

Where is all the RAM going to?

Just force-quit Safari and had 95MB of RAM.
Then I reboot my phone and have 142MB.

How does the 3G do so well with the little RAM it has but the 3G S seems to waste it so easily?

Don't suppose you have a 3G S, too, and are having the same problem?

lol I pre-ordered on Tuesday and it got to my house at 2:39 yesterday. You should have looked into it. But yeah...good luck. My sister and her boyfriend went to the mall today and said there was a line of people waiting just to get into the store.
