    Default iphone tethering or pdanet

So since the launch of 3.0 and the profile tweak for tethering I was wondering.......

will apple be able to tell I am tethering through my iphone through the tethering toggle in "Settings"?
because if that's the case I'll just go back to PDAnet

Yeah...I hope not. I just bought PdaNet like a month and 1/2 ago and I'd rather use Apple's tethering. It's so much nicer.

I dont know a ton but in my mind, its simply collecting the data from the iphone usually does anyway right? We are just running up our kb's on the iphone i dont see how they could know the difference?

And since its"not available" they would have an even harder time trying to prove you did acually tether

I think the way AT&T charges (not now, obviously) is you pay them $xx a month and they add the settings to enable tethering and can remove them at any time, but this way is enabling it for free and without AT&T knowing. So I don't think they will know, that they just know how much data you're using and could probably investigate if you go too far over 5GB. But as long as you stay within 5GB a month, you should be good.
