OMG really? A whole screen dedicated to search?
What a useless thing to have. I thought it would be an ICON or something, but no, they have to take up a whole screen for the search. I don't need that, I know where I put my stuff. There are only so many places that you can put stuff and it pretty much sorts it for you.
Ok, now that I've got that out of the way, is there any way to get rid of the search screen? I didn't see anything in options. Is there an app coming out like bossprefs that will have that feature?

It may be a great option for some people, but it's in a crappy location on the phone.

Apple can't make everyone happy. Give it a little time, I'm sure someone will come up with a way to hide or delete it.
I for one wont be looking into to a way. I like it

WTF?
Who cares if it takes up a WHOLE screen? It's not as if there's limits. It's like complaining that there's too many TV channels and you have to go from 1-100 to see them all.
Why do you need to get rid of it? Just don't press the home button, yeah?
Don't need it, don't use it.To live, you have to lie

I don't mind it, but I don't really have a need for it. It's not like it takes a while to find what I need on the phone anyway.
Voice control, on the other hand, is something I wish they never implemented. It really sucks and it made force quitting apps take too much time. And voice control is very inaccurate for me. I can't get it to do anything I want with the iPod but play and pause no matter how many times I try and no matter how clear I say something. It's really only good for calling someone, but I rarely use the Phone feature too much anyway.
I'm sure many people appreciate voice control, but the one thing I was looking forward to it doing (playing iPod music) is the one thing it sucks at.Does this rag smell like chloroform to you?

Listen. At my age I tend to forget where I've left things, except in just small bits and pieces of "the whole". I don't remember in "complete sentences". So, it's great for me to be able to merely enter just some small tidbit of what I DO remember about something and WALA, there I am.
Now where did I leave my iPhone?Last edited by spongebobiwan; 06-20-2009 at 10:56 PM.

What exactly do you need to check? If you want to listen to a song, check iPod. If you want to find an email, look in Mail. If you want to launch an app, I'm sure you can find it pretty quick on your own.
I don't think Spotlight is a bad feature, but I don't use it much. I wouldn't get rid of it, though, because it's not hurting anything being there.Does this rag smell like chloroform to you?

dude...you have 9 pages to put apps in, and you might also have categories to put your apps in. D: Stop dissing spotlight. It's kool.

As it has been said before, the spotlight search doesn't take any space from anything else. If you like you use it, and if you don't, then you just don't.
I honestly don't see all the fuss, maybe because I happen to be particularly fond of it. It's quite useful if you keep notes in your address book reminding what you did in this or that place. Then, a single word can help you find that restaurant, or that hotel, or that business.
Nevertheless, enjoy all the features of the new 3.0.

I like the spotlight feature. I like more the possibilities of hacking it. Google searches would be cool

It's not so much that the search page is there, it's just in an inconvenient place. Put it at the end of the pages, not the beginning. Trying to get to Home gets frustrating when you constantly overshoot it.
