After upgrading to 3.0 and restoring to factory settings then restoring from a backup, im missing like sooo many apps. I no longer have a phone app, a contacts app, a camera app, a map app. The list goes on... I did have poof and categories before i updated but i thought restoring to factory settings would just save me the effort of un poofing everything and messing w/ categories.

At this point what can i do? All i really need from my backed up phone is my contacts so is there a way to not restore from backup but still somehow get my contacts in without doing it manually?

check all your pages my app store was like on the sixth home screen when i did the update

only like 5 apps showed up total lol theres not even a second page... this has to have something to do with categories/poof.

update: this only happens when i restore from backup. If i dont everything comes through fine. How can i get my contacts to be the only thing that restores?

You should try restoring the iPhone. But this time set it up as a new phone. See if that works because then you know it was the backup.

Or honestly I would at this point call Apple about that issue.

I don't know how much their actually going to help but it will at the same at least help in solving this issue.

enable and disable restrictions, Some have done this and it makes your icons come back

restrictions thing worked great... saves me a ton of work thanks guys

it looks like poof messed up your phone. restore your phone completely then upgrade then sync.
i did and im fine and still have everything and everyone
