Question.. Restoring iPhone without Data Plan

I recently bought a 3G iPhone from my friend. I am with AT&T, but I do not have data on my family plan. I had data blocked on my number last week when I got the phone, and I have been using BossPrefs to block 3G and EDGE just in case. Anyways, I just decided to restore my phone and when it came time to put a sim card in to activate it, I used mine. I didn't just add an iPhone data plan to my account by doing this, did I?

No, but I am afraid they aren't there only because I have data blocked on my number. I did that as soon as I got the phone hoping I wouldn't accidentally rack up data charges.
