If I was at Apple I would just increase my capacity on release day rather than release FW 3.0 before the next iPhone.
But I'm not at Apple and know nothing so we'll just have to wait and see...He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

They have released the iPhone in many more countries and sold MILLIONS more phones since the last major update. I fear that even with increased capacity they will still have a huge bottle neck if they do it all on the same day.

I think we all have that fear - but I hope Apple will have learned and will make sure it doesn't happen again.
If Apple are not sure that there won't be problems then they will release on different days,

I'm tired of buying a new phone everytime it comes out. I may just wait it out with my 3g and buy whatever the next go around is. Maybe it'll be some ridiculous 10g.
