Memory conundrum
i recently deleted all of my music on my iphone. that should have freed up about 5 gigs but instead nothing happened. now i have an iphone with no music and apparently 6 gigs of nothing. in itunes it says that 6.7 gigs of memory is taken by "other" if that matters. please help i really dont feel like reformatting.

A reformat is your best option but you could try deleting
/var/root/Media/iTunes_Control_temp
/var/root/Media/iTunes_Control_2
if you have them.He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

How did you delete them? The only correct way is to "un-sync" them in iTunes. If you deleted them with SSH or something then that's not the right way to go. If you did un-sync them but pulled the cord before the process was done this can cause the same issue. End result - you have to restore.
