IPhone 2G 8GB doesnt complete turning on? after flashing

I flashed my iPhone 2G with the 2.2.1 software and unlocked it using QuickPwn but then I couldn't delete the old winterboard and Cydia apps that I had when I had last unlocked it. So I ran the "reset iPhone" straight from the iPhone and it took about an hour to complete. When it was done it was going to "restart" but it just stands on the apple logo and flashes ever minute and never gets to turn on. I tried connecting to comp but itunes or quickpwn doesnt recognize, what can I do?

turn it off

hold home for 5 seconds

continue to hold home and plug in

contine to hold home untill the itunes logo and cable appears

then restore
