What is Apple's Stand on Distribution Rights?

I've heard around that in a particular teleco monopoly / country, Apple only intends to have one teleco hold the distribution rights so that the iPhone is exclusive.

Could there be a country or a location out there that has more than one teleco selling the iPhone?

What are your views on Apple's move on this?
