no! i dont want internet!

if i open an application that uses internet, such as an IM, or myspace or even just the browser my phone automatically connects using EDGE. both wi-fi and 3g are turned off.

this is costing me lots!, because im accidently touching an application then forgetting to close it its cost me 90$ in 2 days

is there a way i can prevent it connecting when i open an app?
on my old 2g it used to just say unable to connect

u should jailbreak it, then install sbsettings which has toggle switches. you can manually disable the edge network OR

call at&t, tell them u want internet turned off completly because you dont use it, and u don't want any charges? should work

Um, if your iPhone is not jailbroken then you must be a legit AT&T customer, correct? If this is correct then don't you have an unlimited data plan?

unless he buys the iphone from a friend/online. then he can just use it. owning an iphone doesn't mean u have unlimited data. he would need to add it, but doesn't want to pay for it, nor use it.

2. Why not just pay for the data plan. Without it, you don't even have voicemail... :/

the iphone without unlimited data is pointless removes like the whole i & phone from iphone. Turning of edge also stops calls from coming in cause calls go thru the cell phone which is edge.
