Could someone help me

Every time I put in a disk in my mac (like a movie or blankdisk) it spits it out
I know this is in the wrong section but there is only like 4 people in the mac section
Could someone tell me why this is happening and how I can fix it
I am trying to use a program called DVD to ipod converter
It is where you put in a movie and then it puts the movie to your ipod
