Upgrade to 3G or wait?

I've had an iPhone 2G for almost a year now and I took it into ATT to see if I could get an upgrade and how cheap it would be.
They told me that if I pay 299$ then I can get a brand new white 3G 16Gb iPhone.

Should I upgrade or wait for the "new iPhone" which may not even exist.

My phone is a piece, by the way, it has been beat up and I think the antenna is screwed up cause I have lots of problems making calls, so I'm in dire need of a new phone.

Wait..there will be a new iphone out in June, but i think the upgrade price tag will probably be more than they are asking for a 3G. In the end it is your decision, but do you really want to end up kicking yourself when you cant get your hands on the new version?

Yeah, and I heard rumors about the new iPhone possibly being able to use T-Mobiles 3G baseband. But I'm in the same boat as you bro lol.

June is probably when they'll announce the new iPhone, then there will be another waiting period until they actually release it.

if you really need a new phone get like a gophone for now (pay as you go $30 dollar phone). Wait just like 1-3 months for the new iphone, u will regret it if you dont. And it's probably gonna be cheaper.

That is the sweetest rumor I heard for years. I doubt it though. BTW, is German counterpart uses same band also?

There are lots of rumours, some more plausible than others. I would be VERY surprised if this one turns out to be true.

T-Mobile in Europe uses the standard 2100Mhz - the same as all European carriers, it is only in the US they are using 1700Mhz

The original iPhone was released on 29/06/07 I believe? I do not believe Apple will keep people waiting who took out 2 year contracts then so would be very surprised if the next iPhone isn't released around 29/06/09
