Think about this logically. Everyone that bought first generation iPhones was eligible to upgrade to the iPhone 3G for the same price as new customers. Why would this time be any different? Secondly, Apple would lose out on MILLIONS of iPhone sales if AT&T (and other carriers) were to refuse this upgrade. Lastly, it locks people into another year of their contract. Evidence says: Yes.. you will be able to upgrade.
