iTunes Alternative
Is their a program that can sync music, pictures, contacts, applications, movies... update my iPhone... but isnt iTunes?!
Ok maybe not... but I really am at my wits end with iTunes. Is there anything like the iPods Floola?

What's your deal with iTunes?

iTunes is lame, plus I use Linux. I run an XP VM with iTunes just for syncing and restoring, but manage all my music with Amarok and DTunes.
Look into connecting your iPhone via sshfs.
Amarok
RhythmBox
GtkPod
SharePod
Sync contacts/calendar with Google mobile sync.Last edited by tatum; 04-28-2009 at 09:17 AM.

iTunes is buggy and slow, but they have come a long way. I think they are trying to pack too much stuff into one app. Even their latest update said it fixes the lagging, but I haven't noticed an improvement.

Ifunbox does not support major functions on firmwares above 2.x I tried it and it is pretty much useless.

Reasons I think iTunes is lame:
- Resource hogger, giant memory footprint, not to mention how slow it is to start. When it does start, you get like 5 different processes running.
- When you install iTunes, unless you are paying attention you get 3 or 4 other apps along with it and if you uncheck them there, just wait until you update.
- No web browser. This is rookie.
- No Linux support. Also rookie.
- I have music in other formats besides AAC and MP3. iTunes does not support FLAC or OGG (yeah you know me).
- DRM
