there is somewhat of a sardonic irony to this readers digest cover

just about every night after my wife gets off of work we wind up going to the local grocery store. and every nite for the past week or so i have been looking at this readers digest cover with some profound amusement.

after contemplating whether or not i wanted to share this with anyone, i finally decided to say that if anything someone else might catch the sad joke that i see behind this image.

it's really not that big of a deal, but i find it amusing if not somewhat ironic. it's posted on a myspace page cause i don't have access to a photobucket or flicker account...

yeah sexting has been all over the news here. apparently it's become a big deal and the police are enforcing it. (say wat? the police are enforcing our texting? how? -_-") but true story.

there was a news report about a girl who got pulled over for changing lanes too much, and the police officer suspected her of "sexting" when she said she was going to call her mom and tell her what was happening. because she was hysterical. The cop like asked to see her phone or something, and when she refused, he arrested her for.. idk what it's called.

it was a huge debate here, but i live in virginia, the state with one of the toughest driving laws.

*shrugs* it's retarded. it's the parent's who should monitor this, not the police, it's non of the police's business frankly.

sexting is NOT a typo.. it's when men and women send like nude pictures of eachother, or cyber sex over texts, or like say innapropriat things.

Eatjello yeah virginia driving laws suck, especially the underage curfew laws. Who cares if I am driving after 10 PM on a school night, if my parents are allowing me to be out that late I should be enabled to drive. This was really aggravating during spring break and summer. lol

LMAO true true. Didn't think about that but then again I was thinking sexting was just like phone sex except with words didn't think about pictures

yup.

it was one of those things where i was staring at the picture, remembering how my generation basically invented (or at least popularized) cybering when i was younger.

and I kept thinking about that picture and it finally struck me that you can't "sext" on an iPhone because you can't send picture messages

i just wanted to share one of the subtle nuances of my day that amuse me. if for no other reason then to see if anyone else got the joke that once again the news media really hasn't a clue what it is talking about, and the fact that this article exists for the sole purpose to freak parents out.

before it used to be johnny and jenny in the back of the station wagon, then it was johnny and jenny at home when mom and dad weren't around. then it was johnny and jenny on their 486dx2's in a private chat room on a BBS, and then eventually I.M.

now it's johnny and jenny taking pics and uploading them and sharing them amongst themselves, and they can't even get the right phone...

of course you can always use twinkle, but that's not really the point...

i just thought it was somewhat amusing that's all...
