I'm using Photoshop 7.0
Mt son downloaded some icons he wants to use so he asked me to change the colors a bit. No problem I say.
The icons he has are already in a .png format.
Mt problem is when I try to open them in photoshop I get this error message.
"Could not open icon.png because the file-format module cannot parse the file".
Tried opening them in other photo programs I have and samie same.
I right clicked, went to properties and pointed the file to photoshop and still nada.
It's not one file, it's a bunch. Ideas?

Yup saw you tweets. There was a thread on here a week or so ago and I remember HIM crying "Bogus", then much to my surprise (and enjoyment) there you are. Like your avatar too.
Ok, back on.... so I went to the site and got some icons, downloaded again and still nada, same errors. I Thought he may have got them from a BS site, but it was ....whisper... mac themes.
So do I need a newer version of photoshop? Seems to do what I need it to do but I'm just getting started with the program.
Who does the MMI feed on twitter? anyone...... Bueller...... Bueller

According to Wiki:
Some image processing programs have PNG compression problems, mainly related to lack of full implementation of the PNG compressor library. These include:
* Microsoft's Paint for Windows XP
* Microsoft Picture It! Photo Premium 9
* older versions of Adobe Photoshop. He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.
