Ebay or craigslist is pretty much your only options.

I keep looking on both, is about 300-400 the norm for a 2g 8gig iphone, and 500-600 for a 3g phone? since i have tmobile, should i stick with the 2g model?

well, honestly the best place to get a 3G for T-Mobile is Craigslist or EBay, if you go get one from Apple or AT&T without a contract it is 599 for 8GB and 699 for 16GB.

So if you wanted to get a new in the box iPhone go to AT&T but you'll pay a lot.

Also if you don't want to unlock the phone get a Turbo SIM, they are amazing.

If you don't want to have any issues whatsoever with T-Mobile, go with the 2G. If you are willing to buy an unlock SIM and do some fiddling with Settings and rebooting when you lose service so you can get the GPS and better speakers, go with the 3G. Might I suggest a RebelSIM.

I'm wondering if I should trade in my 2g for a 3g. My bro has a 3g on tmobile and it seems to have service problems and is a slight hassle. Do the problems persist or should I look into upgrading?

So if I get a Turbo SIM and use it with my TMO SIM how do the rest of iPhone features work? Can I still sync with iTunes? Does the App Store work? Do all the phone features still work properly? In other words what differences other than 3G are there being on TMO with Turbo SIM rather than on AT&T normally?

    Thanks for any info.

If you get a 3G make sure it has FW2.2 or lower then use YellowSn0w
    2G's can all be unlocked.
Why waste your money on any of the 'piggyback' SIMs?
