Scratches

I'm starting to get some scratches on my 3G that I got around October last year. I was wondering if I brought it to the Apple store they wouldn't have any problems replacing it. Since they're trying to get rid of all the 3G's anyway. Do you think it's possible? Or would AT&T do this as well?

What makes you think that they are trying to get rid of 3G's? Click the image to open in full size.

Wont happen. They would loose a lot of money doing crap like that.
It COSTS money to make the new iPhone, so they still need the profits from the old 3G's. and i mean, not every single person with a 3g will upgrade to the new one, so whoever is still covered by a warranty, if they get some REAL issues.. instead of some punk *** scratches.. where will they go to get a new one?

its cosmetic. get a case.

What do you think?

I'm just trying to get opinions before I call them today and ask. It's still under warranty. I don't see why they wouldn't.

So, Its Apple's Problem/fault that you scratched your phone??

Ive got a 2G that Ive had since long before October last year, with not one single scratch on it. They will just tell you to take better care of it.

Guys chill out, I was just asking a question. No need to be so harsh.

Well I just got off the phone with Apple Care. They said I could make an appointment and possibly get it replaced and change the color. We shall see on Saturday.

Well, I told them my lens was messed up. Somehow it managed to get a big freaking scratch right through it. So I got an appointment Saturday and we'll see what happens. From what I told them it sounds like they'll replace it.

Why bother coming to a forum and asking a question and only expect answers that make you feel good?

Your phone works fine, and your use of the phone made the scratches. Warranty covers product defect. It does not cover accidental damage.

You couldn't expect to do this with a car or anything else for that matter.

We aren't here to pad your ego. You ask a question and you'll get a legit answer.

You're being anal about something that's your fault, and expecting someone else to pick up the tab.
