Iphone will not restore

Hi I have an iphone 3g when I took out my sim card to put in my other phone for the day and when i got home I went to put it back in and the phone is all messed up. Where it says roggers it says serching and it wont find my card and it want's a restor done. I have tryed three diffrent sim cards in it and they all say the same thing "serching" The phone wont let me do a restore it says please insert sim card or pin for sim card. there is never been a pin number on any of the sim cards. I have no idea what to do it wont let me do a restore so im ******......
