Won't stay connected to PC

For some reason my new 3G won't stay connected to my PC at all. It just randomly restarts and disconnects and reconnects multiple times within so many seconds, anyone else have this problem and what was your fix?

I kindof had an issue like this.

My exact problem.

after updating to iTunes 8.1 Plug into PC. PC tried to install drivers. Phone reset. driver install fail.

after phone reset, PC tried installing drivers again, causing phone to reset, causing install failure.

it did this over and over.

I thought it was an issue with Rock Your iPhone, but I think it may have been something with a custom lock theme I had duct tapped together from a few "other" themes and messed with lockclock.tff and the en.plist. when I fixed those I was able to reconnect phone without issue.

i had to restore mine and now it doesnt happen as often.

Have you tried throwing the PC out the window? Many say if you throw the PC out the window and visit Apple to place an order the problems go away.
