Jailbroken 3g i-phone & itunes

I don't know what to do. My hard drive was wiped clean. I have a jailbroken i-phone 3G and no longer have itunes 2.2. What version of itunes is safe to install on my computer and use my i-phone with or does it matter? My i-phone is at version 2.2 (5G77)

It dosent matter what version of iTunes you have, the latest is 8.1, just keep your iPhone at 2.2 so that your baseband stays at the unlockable one. If you upgrade to 2.2.1 and the 2.2.1 baseband, your phone will lose its unlock and you wont be able to unlock unless you try a modified sim card...
