Cracked Apps Illegal?
Are cracked Apps illegal? I have heard that there is a technical thing in the governments law on computers and hacking that it is not illegal if you use the cracked apps but it is only illegal if you distribute them, is that true?

ROFL.
Of course it is illegal to use cracked apps.
You might as well say is it legal to use crack as long as I'm not a dealer?
Thanks for the lulz. Work was starting to get to me.

It's still the same concept as in pirating... It's ok to "backup" your "home dvd's", but if you decide to distribute then it turns to illegal

Not at all. A backup means you own it. A cracked app means you stole it. If you distribute a backup then it simply becomes a copy not a backup. Dumb but thats how it is legally.
Technically it is illegal to even lend a backup of a dvd to your friend to watch and give back lol.

Well it's kinda in the gray area... It's morally illegal (most people don't give a ****). But the legality is a little more unknown, if the app was officially copyrighted then ya. But if you want to go into legality then jailbreaking is way more illegal (whole OS or just one app?).
I would just say in 99 percent of the time you are no gonna be catchable if you do not distributer.
NOTE: do not ask theses questions on this forum, this forum is way to anti-'what they consider to be wares'. Head over to xsellize are hack-u-lous

cracked apps are as illegal as pirated music/software/movies etc. etc.
difference is, the iPhone community is particularly protective over the cracked apps scene and it is forbidden to generally talk about it. especially here. The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

The answer is yes they are illegal to use.
I am all for the discussion of them, but this site is not the right place.
