Default iPhone taking your credit when surfing the web?

I've had a couple of people tell me that they hate using some apps that use the web for little things, building up meaning a lot to those who don't have a web package etc.

I don't know if this has been said before.

But I've worked a way to stop the iphone from being able to access the net unless connected to wifi like a ipod touch.

If you are to do this, please keep note of the details you remove just in case you want to put them back in later on.

    here are the steps:

    go to Settings

    find General

    go to Network

    open Cellular Data Network

in APN get rid of all information

NOTE make sure to write down what was in there or save it somewhere!

For me, my APN said telstra.iph because I'm on Australian's Telstra network.

Thats it! your iphone wont be able to access the net unless its connected to wifi even if it tried.

I have tested this and it does work!

please tell me if problems happen.

Good idea. You also could install SBSettings and use the EDGE Toggle.

is a good idea for some, but for where I am (Tasmania, Australia) we get more 3G coverage then EDGE most the time.

turning 3G off doesn't mean the phone can't still connect to the internet when it wants to, it would just take longer.

the way I was showing is to stop it no matter what speed it is on.
