Problem Jailbreaking iPhone 3g HELP PLEASE!
Alright, so basically my friend has a iphone 3g 2.2.1 FW
and i went on youtube watched a video made be derrangedtaco(however you spell that)
followed instructions...
got all the way to the part in quickpwn where your supposed to hold home button for 5 sec
then hold power bottun and home for 10 etc etc..
problem iam having is that it wont even go passed the detecting iphone in recovery mode
it wont even get to the hold home button for 5 sec
can someone help?
for important info, its 2.2.1 firmware
iphone 3g
itunes was turned off
i even turned any apple thing by pressing ctrl alt delete
iv always had no problem jailbreaking my friends iphones and ipod touchs so i have no idea why its acting up like this

Have you tried downloading quickpwn again. I had a version that didn't work right so I downloaded it again and then it worked great. Also, make sure that your iphone is plugged directly into your computers USB port and not a USB hub.

Well the 1st thing it asks for the 1st step is hold home button for 5 seconds
2nd is hold home AND power buttons for 10 seconds
3rd is release power and continue to hold home for 30 seconds
it wont even go to the 1st step:/
i have no idea why its doing this
it never has done this before

and hold both for ten seconds and then let go of the power but keep holding the home for ten
if you dont know that you have never jailbroken b4, its ok tho
also if you are using quickpwn it will guide you through it
try iClarified - Tutorials
that kid doent know what he's talking about

i thought the newest FW is 2.2.1?
okay tried that
still not working

iam using a PC(Winodws XP)
okay i will watch that video and follow the instructions and see if that works
