    Default SMS on iphone

    Hi!

I just received a previously used iphone and have been playing/exploring it all weekend. There are 2 things on it that Im a little concerned about.
    1. Categories was already installed but there was no icon for it - Is this normal? Even when I tried to reinstall it, there was still no icon.
    2. There is no SMS icon. I get text messages but don't know how to view them.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

One new icon "Cocktails" showed up. Not the SMS one though.

    I figured it out!
He had bossprefs installed and hidden along with SMS. Thanks for your help

this is just like the problem i had.

I used Categories but I don't think i ever will again!

my iphone crashed and was in DFU mode or what ever its called.

and when I restared, only 7 of my icons came back up! the 5 i had in my dock and the two I didnt have in Categories.

the only way i could get them back without loosing all my messages etc from the backup was by before choosing a new profile in itunes, was jailbreak the phone, install bossprefs then restore phone from back up.

this made all but 8 icons show, the bossprefs was added.

so then I could unhide everything else, probs about 25 icons i couldnt get to.

so that was my bad experience with Categories

If it is a used iPhone surely the first thing you do is a clean restore?

Does it have SBSettings - are any icons hidden?
