Serious problem in my phone

I dropped my Iphone today on the ground.
The camera screen shows red patches all around the screen.
The whole screen has reddish patches on it.
It is the 2g iphone. everything else seems to be working fine.
I am in india. I tried restoring it but yet the problem is there.
Is it a hardware problem and how can i fix it.

Sounds like a hardware problem. check into replacing the digitizer and screen.
I would suggest contacting Moderator cprj, He fixes these all the time.

How much would it amount it to.
And How much time it will take.

it would take someone experienced a half hour

someone inexperienced anywhere between 1-3 hours

maybe $150

Thats so expensive.
I would then prefer not to use the camera then.
And then would upgrade my phone to the new one maybe in june.
Any other way to solve the problem.

you cant upgrade and the problem will go it is a hardware problem, the screen is damaged that is y u see red patches.

but u can fix it urself, go to www.pdaparts.com and purchase the screen and digitizer if ur on iphone 2g (it comes together for 2g) or if u have the 3G find out which part is damagaged the lcd, or the digitizer and purchase it ( for the 3g each is sold seperately. and they have a video showing u how to open the iphone and repair it urself
