Nice.
Funny you should mention the adaptor problem, I tackled that in my Z71 Suburban a few months ago:

I remember seeing that thread being very glad at the time I had the AUX jack in my '07 Suburban. That has sat in reserve, used mostly for towing duty since the fall when I "inherited" my husband's M5. I had initially wanted to do something like what you did, but because my Alpine HU is a few years old, it only has one connection for an ai net device. In this case, my Sirius radio tuner. Since I dont want to lose that my only option was to get a source switch like th JL audio Cleansweep. Its not cheap though so I think I'm just going to replace the HU with a newer Alpine that will allow me to use the same tuner for Sirius but let me have an ipod adapter as well. There is a new unit the CDA-105 coming out at the end of the month that looks good.

^Yamaha blue. Yeah I do, got a few awaiting. If you send me your complete phone its $105 which inlcudes shipping back to you (assuming US). Not bad considering colorwarepc charges $150.
If you send me the housing alone...its cheaper.

lol skip the paint and powder coat? dont think that will work seeing as powder coating involves heating the case up to like 2-3X its limit.
