    Default Background IM App?

Hello. I just installed statusnotifier, and I noticed that there's an option to notify if there's a new IM. Since it would be pointless to notify for IMs if you're using one of the app store IM apps, that made me wonder if there's an IM app available in cydia that runs in the background.

If there is not one, will one of the administrators move this thread to the 3rd party apps request subforum?

I use AIM from the app store and use backgrounder to run it in the background so I get IM's all the time.

That doesn't seem to work with status notifier. Which IM apps are compatible with it?

I looked at the google code page for statusnotifier, and tested all of the IM apps that it claims are compatible. Not a single one worked.
Is this only happening to me, or to everyone?

Looks like it's just happening to you. There is another app called "notifier" you may try instead.

I just installed notifer without removing statusnotifier, and then both of them started working. After removing notifier, statusnotifier continued to work.
