At what times does the iPhone ring after receiving a text message?

I know this may be a stupid question, but at what times does the iPhone ring after you get a text message?

With my last phone, when someone sent me a text message, my phone would ring every ten minutes until I answered it. If I was asleep, it would go off every ten minutes for hours.

With the iPhone, I know it rings when you get the message, and then again some time later, but what are the exact times? And how long does this go on for until the phone gives up?

It only rings once, when you receive the msg. Unless you use something like "notifier" or "status notifier" and you can adjust it to whatever you want.

My stock iPhone would go off every 15 minutes until I checked the message. This must have been in one of the more recent updates because it didn't used to do that. bothered the hell out of me.

Hmmm, maybe it does...I have been using notifier so long (which overrides it) guess I wouldnt have noticed.

yeah i think it does every 15 muinets but if you have somthing like mysms it changes too

I use iRealSMS too, no annoying repeating alert.

I use stock SMS app and it only notifies once

It only notifies you once, you have to get seprate apps to make it repeat, probably its the same person txting u over and over.

Mine keeps going off (not sure of the time but it's around 10 minutes I reckon) and I have no other SMS apps other than the stock.

thats true but you can set the status notifier to ring as many times as u want
