As I mentioned in another part of the forum, I'll most likely be getting an Iphone from AT&T next week, so my question is, why spend the extra $100 for twice the memory? I know functionally they are the same phone, but I'll be honest, I'm hard pressed to come up with a way to fill up 1GB let alone 8...or even 16!

So, please enlighten me, are we watching movies in these things?!? FWIW I don't own an Ipod, will never own an Ipod, and rarely listen to music, so the MP3's are irrelevant to me. I guess maybe if I bought a white one then people would KNOW I shelled out the big bucks for more storage...like that's important.

FYI, AT&T is selling refurbs for $99 and $199 now, not a bad price for a 3G Iphone.

Well i thought the same thing when i got an 8 gig 2g iphone.
But i thought wrong and it was full but that was with around 80 apps 750 songs and 3 movies and alot of stuff downloaded from cydia.
But now i have a 16 gig 3g and have lots of videos and movies around 1000 songs and alot of apps and i like having the extra space.
Thats my opinion.
If your not really into music and stuff then dont.
But if you want lots of videos/movies go for the 16 gig.

Just depends on personal use.

I have a 16gigger......and right now have bout 1gig left unused.

I have 7gigs of music (not all my music) loaded, 2gigs of apps, 1gig of pics, and misc tv shows, etc that are about another 4gigs.

If I had more space, like 32gigs....it would be full too

Full length movie files fill up memory fast! If you aren't going to watch movies on it or store more than a few thousand songs at a time there is no reason for a 16GB iPhone.

How about those apps? I didn't realize they might be memory hogs, on my WM phone I can have apps galore and they're tiny, then again the library for the Iphone is much larger.

Next question, black (to show all my finger smudges) or white (which is kinda ugly IMO)?

I vote White! (Or blue thankx to cpjr) I have about 60 apps and it uses less than 2gigs.
