Apps Crashing!!

Hey everyone, not all the time but most of the time i use my apps they start running fine then they crash. cydia and installer does this as well. how can i fix this problem?

do you have sbsetting installed? can you check what you memory is at? this commonly happens when i am low on memory...apps crash

yes i have sbs and it says i have hdd free:57 mb on/11408 mb on var
available memory: 19 mb

19 is pretty low. better apps use about 10mb of memory which would put you under 10mb while running an app. that is grounds for crashing. sounds like you need to free up some memory. thats my opinion

What's the best way to free up some memory? I'm at 56mb on / 288mb on /var and Available Memory: 12mb.

uninstall themes you no longer need.
or little tweaks you dont use.

what kinds of stuff do you have installed that would use memory? weather widgets (liveweather) clock widgets, html wallpapers, video wallpapers etc are all common things that use memory as well as daemons and apps you dont need running

19MB should be more than enough. It's when you get down below 10 that your phone becomes unstable. You need to me a lot more specific about which apps are crashing to try and help. Cydia has gotten MUCH better with the last update. Installer is worthless.

^^^ i love how everyone uses the same word for installer...worthless, it really is. 19 is enough if thats where you stand while running the app but alot of nicer apps use more memory. then if you have ireal and you get a message while in an app while low on memory that will kill it sometimes too

Not since the cleanup. I'm sure I'll get em every now and then, but it's worth it to be able to mess around and customize my iPhone.

I'll watch what apps specifically have issues.

I have issues using iRealSMS as well. I think its low memory.

Please post what you had RUNNING / INSTALLED before and what you REMOVED and what you have RUNNING NOW.

Does generally installing a lot of apps slow down the iPhone or only if the apps are active in memory / mobile substrate all the time?

Is there any other way that something can remain in Memory undetected?

Is there any other way to Watch Memory / Processes that is better than the SBSettings "Processes" Viewer & Terminator? Are there things INVISIBLE to the Viewer and how to find out and tweak them?

Currently my Mobile Substrate has the following items listed when attempting to remove: A lot of these were installed assuming that they would not CLOG memory. I havent gotten to evaluate all but I'd rather be LEAN than trigger happy on every new APP to try.

Can you please suggest which ones to keep and which ones to not?
