I downloaded ssh but I can't get it work. I know my phone is open to ssh but I still can't get to download the themes to my iphone.

Maybe try being a little more specific to whats not happening. Where is it crapping out?? What are you doing, using?

they said that they installed open ssh and tried to connect and it says they need to install bsd subsystem

bsd subsystem is installed when you jailbreak. not to worry about these days
