i have an iphone 2g but i found a cheap iphone 3g mirror screen protector. will it fit on my 2g and not cover my earpeice and button

the screen cant be wider otherwise the apps would have to have two versions with different resoloutions

The glass is wider. IF he gets the 3G one for the 2G it will go off the the edge by a bit
