"plug it into itunes it should unlock" by him121213:

it doesnt work that way, when u plug it into itunes it asks u to input the password so it could access the iphone!

is it officially unlocked from apple?

if it is officially unlocked from apple then u can restore and jailbreak and it will still be unlocked but if its not unlocked officially from apple then u would restore and then unlock it yourself

push it into recovery or DFU mode. It'll recognize and you can restore without having to use a passcode.
