Google maps issue

So for the 2nd time now the maps app has glitched on me. What happens is at certain zoom levels it will tile the same image over and over and over. I have searched around and see that it has happened to other people as well, it seems to be a cache issue. The first time I restored to fix it (reset and maps force quit dont fix) but I want to know if there is a way to fix it without a restore (time restraints). Can I somehow clear the map cache manually? Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks
