Default Leaving for Paris Tomorrow Need Help

I have a Iphone 3G for AT&T. It is jailbroken but not unlocked, and is running on 2.2. Now of course when you travel overseas with any phone, the bill will be costly if you use it. I want to be able to call people back home and use 3G. If anyone knows any way where I can make calls or text without paying extra then I do now, that will be greatly apprciated. I need to know by tonight because tomorrow will be a long day. Also if anyone knows if I can keep 3G on and not pay extra. Thanks in advance, all Comments welcomed.

I'm confused... you're wanting to take your phone to France and you're asking how you can use it over there without paying anything additional?

Yeah, that would be a......you cant. Either pay the charges from ATT or unlock your phone and buy a prepaid to use over there (which would Im guessing be costly to call back to the US). Now, for the data usage you may be limited to only using free wifi spots (if any).

And if your running 2.2.1, you cant unlock.

Wow, my step-mom recently did this. She ended up buying a pre-paid, (not sure how much she spent). She talked to at&t about her trip and asked the same question and from what I gather, they basically laughed at her. Good luck.

Yeah use YellowSn0w. You dont restore so your contacts, etc stay.

And I have no idea how expense a prepaid over there would be, so it may not even be any cheaper. And thats not gonna give you a data connection.

When you text you are using the foreign cell phone network you're connected to so it's all dependent on the foreign plan (or pre-paid) you're on.
