Finding out an "Unknown" number?
Hello everyone, I keep receiving phone calls from an "Unknown" number and I really want to figure out who it is. My bill statement gets updated on the 21st though and I don't want to wait that long. I'm getting really tired of these unknown phone calls. Is there any app or hack I could use to figure out what the number is? Thanks for any help.
Edit:
I forgot to mention this loser just hangs up without saying anything after the first few seconds of answering the call.Last edited by Picartman; 02-05-2009 at 09:29 PM.

Yeah after calling me like twenty times over the period of one month, I'm pretty sure it's a prank caller.
No way dude, I want to find out who it is. I need to give this guy a piece of my mind.
I suppose that's just a blocking app.Last edited by Picartman; 02-05-2009 at 09:36 PM.

Could also be a bill collector. They've been known to call and hang up sometimes.

Why would a bill collector call you and hang up. He wants to Collect the Bill. Why would he want to just hang up. That kills the point of being a bill collector.
Anyway on your statement I don't think it will show the number that's calling you.Android user suffering from iPhone withdraw.

That's understandable but usually you listen and it tells you and then you hang up. He says that the person hangs up after a few seconds.
Does it sound like someone is in the background? People or noise?Android user suffering from iPhone withdraw.

Do they hang up or do you hear heavy breathing?

im pretty sure the white pages appstore app will do this. i cant really see a solution to this at all unless mcallshow picked up the number (check it in cydia) that would be my only thought.

I'll try the white pages app and the mcallshow hack. This person calls me during school too. There's no background noise or breathing, just silence, and after 6-10 seconds, a hang up.

Have you ever tried waiting longer?

White Pages won't work, because he doesn't know the guys number when he calls. It just says 'Restricted' or 'Unknown' or something like that... am I right?
If you want to you can call your service provider and they will block it... but they can't actually give you the other person's number because of privacy issues.
