Buying iPhone Pay As You Go in UK Requirements
Since PAYG launch, anyone has been able to walk into any O2/Carphone Warehouse/ Apple store and purchase the 3G for 350/400 £ for the 8/16gb respectively and pay with CASH.
Some stores required a name and address, some stores didn't. Was at the csr discretion. Each customer is limited to 1 iPhone from each store, so leaving your name/address wrote off your 1 iPhone.
When paying with cash, it was possible for people to give a false name/address and then unlock/sell the iPhone.
As of today, if you are buying an iPhone on Pay As You Go in the UK you MUST pay with your CARD. They are no longer accepting cash as a method of payment due to people buying them, unlocking them and selling them. Each card payment will automatically log your name/address on the system. The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

Yes that's right, but that has always been the case.
The 350/400 price tag includes the £10 top-up.
However, all CSR had training today and from now on, no iPhones to be bought with cash, and it is limited to only 1 per customer per store system.
These are the rules, but it's all up to the csr / store managers discretion i should think. The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine
