quick question

i just jailbroke my 3g last night and beforehand i accidently puk locked my phone (too many wrong sim codes) but jailbroke it in that state, i got the code and unlocked it while jailbroken but id either get the 0/1 bar of service with no carrier name or just no signal. i just restored it today and its back to normal. any ideas why this happened and how to fix it?
'wares:
iphone 3g
fw 2.2.1
jailbroke with quickpwn 2.2-5 (or whatever)

If you restored in iTunes to firmware 2.2.1 then you upgraded your baseband and your phone is no longer unlockable. Go to settings... general... about.. scroll to the bottom. If Modem Firmware is 2.30.00 then you're stuck and outta luck.

I jailbroke my iPhone a few months ago before the unlock was available, but my Modem Firmware shows 02.28.00. That still mean I can't unlock it in the future?

BTW, it really doesn't matter to me. I'm with AT&T and don't have any intentions on switching. I was just wondering.

If your baseband is 2.28.00 you can still unlock your iphone by yellowsn0w.

How is that possible though? I thought they said if you jailbreak your iPhone before the unlock was released, you couldn't unlock your phone when it came out???

That was stated before we knew they the (DevTeam) had included the 2.28.00 baseband with the drop of yellowsn0w.

So that means even if your baseband is 2.30.00, you'll be able to unlock it in the future? Just when the Dev Team includes it in future versions?

It is just best to be safe, and not update to the newest baseband. Just in case they cant exploit, and may a unlock for the baseband.
