Hi
I have just bought a second hand iphone off ebay, the ad said
'phone still on o2 network,updated to 2.2 software.Can be
unlocked using turbo sim{been doing that on 3 network for a
month.
I put in an o2 pay as you go sim...did not work. Cant get
any wifi connection.only got ipod working.
I want to know whether i need to get the phone unlocked
or should it work o2. If i keep the phone i will want to use
it on orange. But i dont really want to mess with phone if
there is a fault. What do you think
many thanks

If its an o2 iphone.....than it should obviously work with an o2 simcard. If its not, you may have a problem.
But you can unlock it with YellowSn0w (software installed via Cydia).

Hi
Thanks for your reply, i could not log back in sooner to reply. If i unlock it using your suggestion is it possible to cause further problems to the phone ? maybe you can't be sure, but i thought i would just ask anyway.

the only issue you might get is when new firmware are released. You wouldn't be able to upgrade right away because it will brick your phone or lock it again. but the devteam and the pips here are pretty quick in catching up with the firmware updates. So make sure you don't update your jailbroken/unlocked phone over at apple. Wait for the updates here.
