Restore Question plz reply!

hi everyone, my friend gave me his iphone 3g 2.2 to jailbreak for him.

so i opened quickpwn and went thru the process and as with most ppl it got stuck in the part where it puts iphone into recovery and gets stuck

so i closed quickpwn.

so MY QUESTION IS:

his iphone 3g is on firware 2.2 and its officially unlocked from apple, so if i press restore on itunes will the the iphone be locked again or will it still be unlocked?

If it is indeed officially unlocked from Apple, then it will always be unlocked; no restore or anything of the like will change that.
