SpringBoard crashes

Well as of yesterday my SpringBoard has crashed a few times and just did it again this morning. It's not triggered by anthing I do but when i press the home button to wake the phone it will go to a white screen with the rotating bars (like the hour glass) telling me it is doing something and then will go to my lock screen and at the bottom says Sad Iphone by Geoff Sterns. When I unlock the phone the Springboard has crashed and is in safe mode. I googled the bejesus out of it and can't figure it out. Any ideas?, huh Geoff Stearns?

Yeah its safe mode.Mobile Substrate is providing error handling&fallback support.It occurs when you have a problem with winterboard or other apps.

thats what happened to me but my icons got messed up what should i do

This keeps happening to me. It's been happening for the past month, and gets more frequent every week. Yesterday, it crashed over 20 times. I'm also trying to find out how to fix it. A restore would be too time consuming for me.

if your icons are getting messed up(this is happening to me aswell) when you see the little white loader and you know its going to crash, hold the home and power buttons until your boot logo appears, then wait for your phone to boot up. It takes a while but your icons are not screwed up.

sad iphone, stupid lookin battery, annoyin the crap outta me
yeah ill be brief,
jailbroke 3gs redsnow 0.8
went nuts installin apps of all types
installed five dock
installed five-column springboard
installed killa carbon theme
had theme running, and five apps running. Woke up thismorning and decided to delete app i got from apple APPSTORE. i then had a spare space in springboard so i tried to fill it with something else
In dragging and dropping screen froze, crashed and went to sad iphone image, pop up showed sayin springboard crashed blah blah please restart. after restarting went back to being all right, but icons were all ove the place, im tryin to figure out which apps are confusing each other
i removed theme and about to remove other apps,

also, first time it happened phone went straight to cydia to an available update...........

any ideas.

Remove 5 colum springboard and 5 icon dock. That might be a big part of the problem. I had all that installed on my old 3g and it crashed all the time, then I removed them and didnt ever crash

thanks for the quick reply. seems a bloody shame, very nice app, i thought that might have been the case attempting now..., cheers mate
Glasklart also has a 5 row part available in winterboard which im seeing maybe causing cross over issues

by the way there is a great app -springback -on cydia that restores your icons on the board in its previously saved order
