My phone is acting up!!!!!!!
alright so let me give you a quick background to my problem.
i recently installed Zagg Invisible Shield on my iPhone and immediately after it started to act funny.
1. first of all it turns it self on even when i turn it off.
2. when it turns on a Message box pops up saying that "this accessory is not compatible with the iphone" and it asks me if i want to turn airplane on.
3. the speaker on the bottom doesnt work. it only works if someone calls me and the ringer plays. but SMS tones dont go thru and the sleep sound/click doesnt work. Ipod music doesnt play except with headphones. the earpiece does work when i make calls but i cant hear the tones when using 'keypad' to dial numbers
I have searched and read that some people had the same problem and it just went away but my didnt. it could be from water getting into the phone during invisible shield installation but that would have been very minimal.
i tried doing a settings reset didnt work
i tried plugging in and unplugging headphones a bunch of times with ipod feature, that didnt work
i did a reboot holding both home and power buttons that didnt work
i dont know what else to try before resorting to do a restore since my phone is unlocked and Jailbroken
im on a 2G iPhone on 2.1
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME

Since you are on 2.1, you should restore anyway. 2.2 is more stable.
BUT
Did you leave your phone off for the recommended 24 hours after installing the invisible shield? So long, and thanks for all the fish

i tried to leave it off as much as i could but it would constantly turn it self back on. but its been off for the better part of the day today....
i dont really want to restore and upgrade to 2.2 because i had a really hard time to unlock/jb my phone initially and dont want to go through the trouble again

Ive never seen an iPhone turn itself back on, unless it was plugged in. Shut it off and leave it alone for the rest of the day and turn it back on tomorrow and see if you are still having problems. If so, a restore might be the best solution.
So long, and thanks for all the fish

ok...so i had no choice but to restore. i upgraded to 2.2 and did the whole jb/unlock process.
i still have the same problem.......message box popping up saying "this accessory is not compatible with the iPhone" then gives me a choice to put it in airplane mode.
and still the same problem with the speaker not working for sms and ipod and sleep sound
