Please help wont boot!!

I have an iphone 3g 16gb i tried to restore through dfu and just the itunes sign with usb cable too neither worked.....the phone is recognized and is able to restore but the apple is still on screen...please help

If you put it in Dfu mode properly,your screen must be just black...nothing else...

it was just black and then i got the prompt from itunes about recovery

So now shift click restore and install your 2.2 f/w

i have done that...the restore goes through finishes and when the phone restarts it doesnt get past the apple logo but itunes recognizes it and the says something about the sim card but apple logo still on screen
