Unable to join network "so and so ", WIFI problem

My 2g 8gb wont join my wifi .I tried reboot and resetting network settings , none of those worked.I see my network name i select it , type in password and it says joining , after few seconds it gives me message "unable to join the network "my network name ".
Any way of fixing this without restore and unlocking it again.
Phone is unlocked and jailbroken.

Are you sure the problem comes from the phone and not from the modem? I had the same once and found out that the modem must be set to "router" to accept several devices connected to its wifi.....I did the that and then the phone was able to join the network!

I have the exact same problem with the wifi and haven't seen any answer for it.

This one time worked for me, but I dont know if it will again, go to the wifi setting on your iphone and hit the blue arrow on the side of the network, there should be an option to "Forget Network" hit that and try again.

I had to re-apply my routers settings, and for some reason wifi on my iPhone worked fine after this.
