USe the following method....this worked for me no problem

    1. Do a Fresh restore in iTunes without the SIM card in the phone

    2. Then open QuickPwn and choose to install Cydia and Unlock Phone (again without the SIM card in the phone)

    3. While its jailbraking, it will also do the unlocking. Let everything finish first. After the process is finished, it will restart and the phone will Activate in Itunes (without the SIM card in the phone).

    4. Now put the SIM card in and it should detect the SIM card.

I forgot to add that the reason you want to do the whole thing without the SIM card in the phone is when you do the fresh restore you DO NOT want the phone to activate in itunes yet. That needs to be done in the last step.

I know this method works as when I tired to do this with a TMOBile sim in the phone it still did not unlock the phone. Again, do the whole process without a SIM card in the phone.

Let us know if it works for you
