Default Quick question about the flash memory.

Well, to start off, I recently fried my iPhone, and bought a new 3G. Well, I hadn't backed up any of the things from the phone and there was a good amount on there I somewhat wish I could get back. So me and a few friends were bored and wanted to take apart the phone, since it didn't work any longer. When getting the silver plate off I thought, was there a way to get the data off the memory without using an iPhone? Now, I've read alot online about people asking if they could swap out their flash chips for a higher memory model, and things like that, but I want to know, is there any way I can get the chip accessed by a computer, to retrieve the data from it?

Not without getting the mainboard to fire up. The chip by itself is useless.

Ah, crap. I didn't think there would be a way, but it never hurts to ask.
Thanks for the quick reply as well =D
