update my iphone?

Ok.....i have the older iphone hacked(not the 3g). Now I am pretty sure I did the 1.1.3 on it.......and i have been running with that for quite a long time now.
Where on this site is there a guide to show me how to update my phone to the latest 2.2? I do have a windwos machine too. thanks.

ok......I am running 64 bit version of XP which does have issues with Itunes...however there is a hack out there to run Itunes on 64bit XP. Got the latest version running.

Now when I try to restore my iphone to 2.2 in itunes...it eventually came up with an itunes error.....and now my phone screeen is stuck on picture with the plug and arrow pointing to the itunes logo. Does that mean it is bricked or something? Any idea what I should do?
