Backlight auto bright mod?

Is there a application or mod to the stock auto bright feature of the backlight thats more adjustable or at least expodential? I cant stand the stock one, i set it to be just right in average light, then its wayy too bright when its dark, and I cant see it when its bright.

Just some app that monitors the ambient light sensor and more frequlently than not slowly fades into the new brightness setting that allows for the predetermined diffrence between the backlight brightness and ambient to make the screen appear to be nearly a constant brightness reguardless of lighting.

havnt seen one but sounds like a good idea. you should go recommend it in the app section
